ACCOUNTABILITY
INITIATIVE
Justice and human dignity are non-negotiable.

WHO WE ARE
Here at the Rwandan Accountability Initiative, we believe that accountability is a necessary step towards reconciliation and lasting peace.

In recent years there have been growing concerns regarding human rights violations, including enforced disappearances, torture, and killings, in Rwanda. Many victims are targeted for speaking out against government policies and practices. Such violations have been reported by various sources, including the US Department of State, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and the International media.

While there was some accountability in relation to the Rwandan genocide in 1994, with the establishment of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and domestic criminal justice mechanisms, there are few avenues of redress for other human rights violations.

Here at Rwandan Accountability Initiative, we aim to change that, make the perpetrators accountable and fight for justice for all.
