REPORT ON GENERAL ALLEGATIONS TO THE UNITED NATIONS WORKING GROUP ON ENFORCED OR INVOLUNTARY DISAPPEARANCES
Addressing the problem of enforced disappearances of ordinary Rwandans, in addition to Rwandan political opponents, human rights defenders, journalists and other perceived critics of the Rwandan government.

We highlighted the ongoing failure of the Rwandan Government:
1. to investigate and ensure accountability for enforced disappearances carried out by Rwandan government forces within Rwanda between the years 1996 – 2021; and
2. to assist the relatives of those disappeared individuals in determining the fate or whereabouts of their loved ones. The inability of relatives to access information about these disappearances and seek redress creates a prolonged and painful state of limbo for many Rwandan families at home and abroad.
